Happy Chinese New Year to one and all – may this Year of the Snake bring you fortune and prosperity. Before you get too excited, there is a lot more to it than being the main character of 2025. A lot of changes are coming.
The Chinese New Year calendar originates from an ancient Chinese poem that tells the story of 12 mythical animals that descend from the heavens to help people celebrate the coming of spring.
These 12 zodiac animals each take charge of one whole year. When your turn comes around (Snakes, we’re looking at you), it is said to be your Ben Ming Nian. In traditional Chinese belief, the God of Tai Sui is coming for you, and this equates to a year of hardships and challenges.

This is the year for those born in a year of the Snake to avoid confrontations and negativity. Take a beat before making big financial decisions – it should be a good year for money, but there will be some ups and downs.
Snakes, wear red lingerie but avoid men in red beanies. Pay close attention to your health, don’t delay check-ups and avoid sharp objects.
Meet new people, start a family and strengthen bonds with the people you love. This is the year to level up your relationships. Oh, and you might meet your true love this year; if you haven’t already.

One of THE most iconic pop culture moments of all time.
Obstacles usually lead to growth and opportunity so push through, use your sharp intellect and talent for analysis and trust your instincts. Snakes don’t usually pay much attention to other people’s opinions anyway, so this shouldn’t be hard to do.
The Snake is a naturally cautious, introverted creature. Their cool and calm exterior conceals a deep and complex inner life. Sensitivity is countered with formidable intelligence – there is an air of cool detachment, but flashes of passion too.

The emotional detachment of the Snake may make them seem calculating and cold. Luckily, they can be counted on to remain calm in stressful situations.
Innately mysterious and enigmatic, the cleverness and charm of the Snake makes them irresistibly alluring. Snakes love deeply but wound easily.
Last but not least: they have amazing taste ☺
