From being discovered at a Rancid concert in New York when she was 13 to becoming one of Karl Lagerfeld's many muses, dominating runways during the 90s/2000s and every Y2K girlies style icon thanks to her role as Suki in 2 Fast 2 Furious, Devon Aoki has always been that girl.

“I was scouted at a Rancid concert in New York, and ended up shooting a story for Interview magazine in exchange for backstage passes"

As one of Y2K's most recognizable faces, you'd be hard-pressed to find a runway Devon Aoki didn't walk or a magazine whose glossy page she wasn't featured in during the late 90s/2000s. After being discovered in 1995, it was Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel who gave the 16-year-old her big break in 1998. The internet was about to explode and Tumblr feeds would be red-hot and reblogging Devon Aoki's dewy face and cyber-pop style for years to come.

From that moment on, the legendary catwalk appearances would unfold; from Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier to Jeremy Scott, Baby Phatt or Comme Des Garcons, Vogue, iD and Interview covers, there was the Primal Scream music video with Kate Moss, and of course, her roles in films such as Hot Girl Suki in 2 Fast 2 Furious, giving us hot pink low rise jeans, baby tee's and body glitter, and D.E.B.S playing the chain-smoking French girl, Dominique.

Devon Aoki has lured in a cult following over the years and through countless runway shows, campaigns and films, becoming one of Y2K's most transformational forces. Still, her long hair, soft blush and sun-kissed glossy complexion have always remained.
