COACHELLA HAIR MOMENTS

Coachella 2025 served serious sound, and even better hair. From Lady Gaga's jet-black gothic bob (one of two hair looks) to Charli XCX and Lorde's "same hair" by Kiwi Matt Benns, the performers' looks on weekend one were as memorable as their sets. We've pulled together a few of our favourite on-stage hair moments, to inspire your next salon - or festival - visit.

Headliner Lady Gaga had two hair looks for her performance (of course she did), including this gothic bob with "sharp architectural lines, matte texture and rich, inky black tones".

"I wanted the hair to speak to duality - the tension and harmony between darkness and light," her hairstylist, Freddie Aspiras, said of the looks.

Gaga's second, softer look: hand-dyed in layers of pearl and silver, "with ethereal fibre that moved like liquid under stage light" according to Aspiras.

"This was more than hair - it was visual storytelling, shaped by contrast, crafted with intention."

Lorde and Charli xcx at the after-party, following their duet of Girl, so confusing.

Creating a look that was "sweat and grease proof" was the key for Clairo (who brought out Bernie Sanders before she performed). Her hair was all about soft, playful texture - and dry shampoo-ing her bangs, to deal with the desert heat. Fun fact: her makeup was by Kiwi Amber D.
